DravyaOS against 11 of them, row by row

Pharmacy software is a crowded space. Here's an honest, feature-by-feature look at how DravyaOS lines up against the tools most Indian pharmacies already know — 43 rows, 11 products, and a section on where each of them beats us.

The bottom line

₹2,499

a year, for the whole shop.

Nearly every other tool in the table below charges by the year — a licence, an AMC, or a per-seat subscription — and counts your counters, your devices and your users. DravyaOS is one price per shop: every feature, every device, every staff login, on Windows and Android. It goes to ₹5,499 on 1 January 2027; subscribe before then and ₹2,499 stays your price for as long as you stay subscribed. See the full pricing.

The honest part

Where each of them is genuinely better

No comparison written by one side is neutral. So here is the single strongest thing each of these 11 does better than we do — and if it's the thing you need, we'd tell you to stay put.

C-Square

Enterprise distribution and chain deployments — genuinely their home ground, and deliberately not ours.

eVitalRx

Patient-facing reach. Online ordering and e-pharmacy tie-ins are core to eVitalRx and only a side feature for us.

GoFrugal

Multi-store retail ERP maturity across formats, well beyond a single pharmacy counter.

LocalWell

Genuinely affordable and pharmacy-only, with a real free tier rather than a trial.

Marg ERP

Distribution and wholesale depth. Multi-tier stock, party-wise ledgers and the wholesale workflows a semi-distributor genuinely uses. We are deliberately retail-counter focused and do not try to match this.

MargBooks

The Marg distributor ordering network, on the cloud — a genuine ecosystem advantage.

Medeil

Hospital-pharmacy depth — ward-wise supply and prescription-linked dispensing, which a retail counter tool has no reason to build.

SwilERP

Three decades of India-specific pharma distribution depth, including D1-D2 and FSSAI compliance work we do not attempt.

TallyPrime

Accounting depth, by a distance. Proper ledgers, cost centres, and audit-ready books. We give you the reports a pharmacy needs; Tally gives you an accounting system.

Vyapar

Beautifully simple for general billing — if you sell more than medicines, one app covers it.

Zoho

A deep, well-integrated business ecosystem — Books, CRM, Analytics and Creator all speaking to each other.

The bill, without the mouse

Medicine, batch, quantity, payment, print. Every step has a key, the batch list is already sorted by what expires first, and the line turns red before you save if the rate is below cost or above MRP. The queue doesn't wait for you to find a dropdown.

  • Search by brand or by salt — the substitute finder is one keystroke
  • Free goods pre-fill from the 10 + 1 the batch was bought on
  • Split one bill across cash and UPI and the day-close still matches

47 reports, and a way to find the one you want

Sales and profit cut by medicine, customer, company, HSN, staff, doctor and beat. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. Day book, collections by tender, profit per bill worst-first, stock movement, and a Schedule H1 & X prescription register. Search matches how you'd say it — “party wise”, “distributor”, “stock statement”.

  • Open any report by name from the command palette, anywhere
  • Every report exports to CSV and prints on A4 or A5
  • Stock valued at cost, MRP or selling price — named on the page

It tells you what to do, not just what happened

Nobody runs twelve reports on a Tuesday morning. The app reads your own ledger and surfaces six findings, ranked by the money attached: stock running short at the rate it's really selling, stock that hasn't moved, batches expiring faster than you'll sell them, purchase rates that crept up, regulars overdue for a refill, and scheduled drugs billed with no prescriber.

  • Every finding opens the screen where you'd act on it
  • Works entirely offline — it's your data, read locally
  • The figures behind each finding are shown, not hidden

Moving across

Getting off your old software without losing your stock

The single biggest reason shops don't switch. It's four steps, and your old software stays exactly where it is.

01

Get your data out

Whatever your current software exports — stock, customers, suppliers, outstanding balances. A CSV is ideal, but a PDF or even a phone photo of a printed list works.

02

Let the import read it

AI import takes CSV, PDF and photos, and handles a catalogue of about 35,000 rows in one go. It maps the columns itself — you review what it found before anything is saved.

03

Check the openings

Opening stock, and what each customer and distributor owes you, bill by bill. Opening bills stay editable afterwards, so a wrong figure on day one isn't permanent.

04

Bill on day one

Your old software stays installed and untouched for as long as you want it as a reference. Nothing is deleted, and nothing about DravyaOS expires.

Questions

Choosing pharmacy software, answered

Which pharmacy software is best for a single medical store in India?

It depends on what you are optimising for, which is why the table above is a table and not a verdict. If you want depth of distribution features and a dealer who visits, a desktop ERP like Marg or SwilERP has decades of that behind it. If you want to be billing this afternoon with nothing to configure, that is what DravyaOS is for. For a single counter we would say download it, import your stock, and see how a week at the counter actually goes before you commit to anything.

How is DravyaOS priced compared with the rest of the table?

Most of the products here charge by the year — a licence, an AMC, or a per-seat subscription — and much of what is marketed as costing nothing is a time-limited trial, a feature-limited edition, or a tier with the pharmacy-specific parts on a paid plan above it. DravyaOS is one price per shop: ₹2,499 a year for everything, on every counter, device and staff login, going to ₹5,499 on 1 January 2027 for anyone who subscribes after that. The cost row in the table above says exactly what each of the eleven charges.

How do you decide what goes in a row, and can I trust it?

Every row is something that changes a working day at a pharmacy counter, and the DravyaOS side of each row is written once and shared by all eleven comparisons so our own claims cannot drift between pages. Rival cells come from publicly available information. Where we could not confirm something we say so rather than asserting the feature is missing, and rows we have not checked against a particular product are marked as unchecked, not as absent.

How often is this comparison updated?

It is re-checked against each DravyaOS release and stamped with the version and date it was last verified, shown under the heading at the top of this page. Competitor products change too — if you spot a cell that is out of date or wrong, email us and we will correct it.

What does DravyaOS cost?

₹2,499 a year for one shop — every feature, unlimited counters, devices, medicines, invoices and staff logins. That is a launch price: it goes to ₹5,499 on 1 January 2027, and subscribing before then keeps you at ₹2,499 for as long as you stay subscribed. Two shops start at ₹6,399 a year. Try the whole system free for 30 days first, no card and no account needed to install. Setup and migration is ₹599 once; the AI add-on is ₹299 a month and optional. No AMC and no per-seat charge for a second counter.

What happens to my billing if the internet goes down?

Nothing. DravyaOS keeps the master copy of your data on your own machine and works entirely offline — billing, stock, returns, reports, printing. Sync is how your devices catch up with each other when a connection is there; it is never something the counter waits for.

If the data is on my machine, what happens if the machine dies?

Your data is on your machine and, if you've signed in, mirrored to your other devices. Restoring is a matter of installing DravyaOS on the new machine and signing in. You can also take a local backup at any time.

Can I keep my old software running while I try this?

Yes, and we'd suggest it. DravyaOS doesn't touch your existing installation. Import a copy of your data, run both for a week, and only stop the old one when you're satisfied.

How do I get support?

Email help@dravyaos.com — a question, a bug or a request all go to the same place.

How we compare

What a row means, and what it doesn't

Rows earn their place

Every row is something that changes a working day at a counter — the twenty seconds that repeat three hundred times, or the money that quietly leaks out of an expiry claim. Feature checklists nobody uses are left out on purpose.

Our side is written once

The DravyaOS cell in every row lives in a single file shared by all 11 comparisons, so our own claims can't drift from page to page or fall behind a release. It's re-checked against each version we ship.

Unknown isn't the same as absent

Rival cells come from publicly available information. Where we couldn't confirm something the cell says “not that we can find”, and the 17 rows we haven't checked against every product say “not checked” — neither claims the feature is missing.

We publish where we lose

Every head-to-head page has a section on where that product beats us, and the summary of all 11 is further up this page. A comparison that finds nothing good to say about eleven rivals isn't a comparison.
